RStudio Connect is a publishing platform for the work your teams create. With RStudio Connect, data scientists can publish and share their dashboards, Shiny interactive applications, R Markdown reports and presentations, Jupyter notebooks, and more in one place, accessible by all members of your organization.

With RStudio Connect, schedule the execution and regeneration of your reports at pre-determined times (with email notification if you want), and use flexible security policies to bring the power of data science to your entire organization.

RStudio Connect allows data scientists to publish their work themselves – and easily – with a push-button available in the RStudio IDE. No more need to go through IT and a SysAdmin: the one who publishes is the one who develops! No unpleasant surprises: a code that runs locally on R will work once deployed on RStudio Connect. Data scientists can also link RStudio Connect to git to implement a continuous integration process.

Works may be published publicly, or they may be restricted to a limited number of users. It’s up to you!

RStudio Connect users can download and use the professional RStudio drivers at no additional cost. These connectors for the most common databases (Oracle, Hive,…) will allow your data scientists to explore databases from RStudio Connect and use databases with R in a production environment.

RStudio Connect is not only reserved for the R ecosystem, as it allows the deployment of Python scripts, Jupyter notebooks or TensorFlow models.

The purchase of licenses for RStudio Connect can be accompanied by a consulting service to support you during deployment.

What is a user in RStudio Connect?

And most importantly: How are they counted?

The visitor of an application or a dashboard can be of 2 types:

an anonymous user (like you if you visit our Connect)
a named user, who had to log in to access Connect (for example with LDAP or Active Directory) – developers who deploy the applications are also considered as named users

Only named users are counted. The number of anonymous users is potentially unlimited (although limited at a given time T).
